Okonomiyaki (Osaka Style)
Recipe by Otafuku Foods
Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Okonomiyaki Flour (Otafuku)
- 1/2 Cup Water
- 10 oz Cabbage, shredded
- 2 Eggs
- 6 slices of Pork Belly or Bacon
Toppings
- Okonomi sauce (Otafuku)
- Mayo
- Aonori (Dried seaweed powder)
- Katsuobushi (Dried bonito flakes)
Instructions
Mix Okonomiyaki flour and water in a bowl.
Add cabbage and eggs and mix thoroughly until the egg yolks coat entire batter.
Heat frying pan (medium low heat) and add oil.
Add half the batter into the frying pan and form a thick cylindrical shape (little less than 1 inch thick). Place 3 slices of Pork belly on the top of the mound.
Cook for 3 minutes. Then flip! Cook the other side for about 4 minutes or until golden brown.
Flip it over so the bacon faces upward and take Okonomiyaki out of the pan.
Pour Okonomi sauce and Mayo on the top and spread over the top of the Okonomiyaki. Lastly, add the Aonori & Katsuobushi and serve!
