Kinpira is a cooking style, commonly used to cook root vegetables. You can always add other vegetables to this colorful dish!


Colorful Carrot and Broccoli Kinpira

Ingredients

  • 1 Broccoli Stalk
  • Carrot
  • 1 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Sake
  • 1 Tbsp Mirin
  • ½ tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Bonito Dashi Powder
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil
  • Sesame Seeds, for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Peel the skin off of the broccoli stalk and carrot, and julienne.
  2. Pour 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in pan and stir-fry the broccoli and carrots over medium heat, for about 2 minutes.
  3. Add sugar, soy sauce, mirin, sake, and the bonito dashi powder. Cook for additional 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat.
  4. Garnish with the sesame oil and sesame seeds on top. Enjoy!
