Sukiyaki is a Japanese beef hot pot. You can always substitute ingredients with your favorite vegetables and meats, but the authentic way is to cook this with beef!

Bordeaux Wine Sukiyaki

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Bordeaux Wine, Red
  • ½ cup Soy Sauce
  • ½ cup Mirin
  • 2 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1-2 inch cube Beef Fat
  • ½ lb Wagyu Beef, thinly slices
  • 2 Scallions
  • ¼ White Onion
  • ¼ package Tofu
  • 2 leaves Hakusai (Napa Cabbage)
  • ½ Carrot
  • 2 Shiitake Mushroom
  • ½ package of Shimeji Mushroom
  • ½ package of Udon Noodles

Instructions

  1. Slice onion, carrot, mushrooms, scallions, and napa cabbage leaves. Dice tofu into small cubes.

  2. Heat the pan with beef fat over medium heat.

  3. Cook onions and scallions for about 2 minutes.

  4. Pour red wine, mirin, soy sauce, and sugar into the pan. Mix well.

  5. Add tofu, napa cabbage, and mushrooms. Cook until boil.

  6. Once boiled, add beef and udon. Cook for about 1 minute or until udon noodles are soft.

  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
