Basic Teriyaki Sauce
- Whisk together the mirin, soy sauce, sake and brown sugar in a saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to a simmer and continue cooking for about 20 minutes, or until the sauce coats the back of a spoon.
- Take the pan off the stove and let the teriyaki sauce cool to room temperature. Store teriyaki sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
