What is Japanese Pasta?
Japanese pasta has a rich and interesting history. During the Meiji Period (1868-1912), Italian food became popular as part of the internationalization. Because noodles were already such an important part of Japanese food culture, adopting the sauces and ingredients of classic Italian dishes into Japanese food was almost automatic. Now there are many different kinds of Japanese pasta in Japan. From Japanese style Neapolitan spaghetti to Ume plum pasta dishes, choices are endless. Like Japanese curry, Japanese pasta is a very popular cuisine that is not well known outside of the country. With this simple to make Japanese fusion pasta recipe, we hope to change that!
What is Miyasaka Freeze Dried Miso Soup?
Miyasaka Brewery was founded in 1692, and is known for producing high quality “Masumi” sake enjoyed across Japan for centuries. The instant miso soup we use in this recipe allows you to utilize all the flavor and health benefits for an amazing homemade Japanese fusion pasta. Miso soup contains typical ingredients like tofu and seaweed. All you need to create a cup of miso soup is just to add hot water! Unlike most of the instant miso soup in the market, Miyasaka’s miso soup uses a freeze drying method.
Why Freeze Dried?
Not only are they easy to use, they have many other benefits including longer shelf life and a light weight. As opposed to dehydrated products, freeze dried foods actually retain most of the nutritional content of the original fresh item as well. Likewise, freeze dried food products preserve better. Using freeze dried products like Miyasaka’s Miso Soup allows you to tap into real Japanese authenticity from wherever you are.
